Community guide

How to start an effective topic in the community?

Increase the value of your titles with planning, accurate expression and regular follow-up. This guide walks you through the steps you need to follow to get fast and reliable responses from the community.

Choose the right category

Be sure about which country, city or district page you will share your topic on. Titles opened in the wrong category reduce your visibility and require editing.

Search for similar topics

Type your keywords in the search box and browse existing discussions. Contributing to an existing topic strengthens the community's knowledge.

Set concrete goals

Explain clearly why you brought up the topic. Stating purposes such as getting advice, sharing experience, or posting an ad in the first paragraph will help you get a faster response.

Configure your message

Before moving on to the topic editor, plan your content using the framework below. Opening a separate paragraph for each section while writing increases readability.

Title
It is short, descriptive and contains keywords that will be found in searches (e.g. "Izmir student dormitory recommendations").
introductory paragraph
Explain the background to your question or experience you want to share. Add basic information such as date, institution name, grade level.
Detail
Write down data that will help you make a decision. Information such as budget range, expectations, and options you have researched will increase the quality of the response.
The contribution you expect
State exactly what you expect from the community. For example, "dormitory offer", "official process information" or "experience sharing".

Clear and respectful language

Avoid personal attacks, use a tone that appeals to everyone. Before sending your text, check its tone by reading it out loud.

🛠️

verifiable information

Indicate the source of the data you share. If it is your own experience, add the date you experienced it, if it is a third source, share the link.

🛠️

Update habit

Add an edit note to the first message when your issue is resolved or you obtain new information. Thus, its guiding quality is strengthened.
