Çağdaş Eğitim Kooperatifi; çağdaş, laik, demokratik ve bilimsel eğitim politikalarından giderek uzaklaşılan, Atatürk ilke ve devrimlerinin unutturulmaya çalışıldığı bir süreçte, bu olumsuzluğa seyirci kalma yerine aktif sorumluluk üstlenmeyi öncelikli görev kabullenen 23 aydın bireyle yola çıkan özgün ve öncü bir oluşumdur. ’ ’’Kooperatif’imiz; kurulduğu 1995 yılında 23 kurucu üyesi ile yaptığı anket sonucunda, Bursa’da yüksek öğrenim gençliğinin acil gereksiniminin yurt olduğunu belirleyerek, ilk hedef olarak gündemine yurt inşası projesini gerçekleştirmeyi koymuş ve öğrenci yurdumuz’ un ilk bloğu 20 Eylül 1998 yılında faaliyete geçmiştir. 24 Eylül 2000 tarihinde de Yurt binası kompleksi tüm üniteleriyle öğrencilerimize hizmet vermeye başlamıştır.
